Paramore Give More Details on New Album

Good news for Paramore paramours. The band is close to finishing writing for their next record!

Lead singer Hayley Williams posted an excited entry on the band’s blog dishing on the new album and giving a bit of a time table for when it’ll be done.

“We’re only about two weeks away from actually putting music to tape,” Williams wrote. “No, we aren’t recording this album analog but hopefully you’ll understand the expression,” she added. “We’ve already gone through all the songs that we have hoped would make it this far and they — about 19 — of them are ready to be recorded,” Williams gushed. “This doesn’t mean that we are going to have that many tracks on the album,” she explained, “but it does mean that for the first time in the history of our band, we are going to record more than we actually need for an album and end up with more than a few extra tracks to play around with after the fact. It’s really been a fun process for us.”

Williams told fans more about working with Beck bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen. “By now, you know our producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen is fully involved with every part of this process,” she said. “We spent a week jamming out a handful of songs a day with him and even wrote a few parts to songs with him that were missing or that just needed extra care.”

That doesn’t mean, though, that the album will be out before 2013. “We cannot assure you it will be out this year,” Williams told fans in April. Still, the penning process is coming to a close.

“I only have one more chorus worth of lyrics to write before I’m done,” Williams said. “We started writing these songs about a year ago… I can’t believe it’s all about to happen!”

Ex-Paramore drummer Zach Farro launches new band HalfNoise – listen

9:41 AM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

Former Paramore drummer Zach Farro has launched his new band HalfNoise and their debut single 'Free The House'. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to hear the track.

Farro left Paramore at the end of 2010 along with his brother Josh and has formed HalfNoise along with Dan Brigham, frontman of the band Canon Blue and Jason Clark, a childhood friend.

Asked to describe HalfNoise, Farro compared their sound to the likes of Sigur Ros and Radiohead, saying that his new act were set on "combining the ambiance of bands from Iceland with the sampling and electronic elements of Radiohead".

Speaking about the track, Farro said: "I wanted 'Free The House' to be the first music released to fans as it best represents my current style and creative direction in music. The song illustrates what fans can expect to hear from HalfNoise in the future."

Farro, who will tour with HalfNoise in early summer, is also recording with Novel American, his new project with brother Josh. They are currently seeking a new vocalist after the recent departure of singer Van Beasley.

Paramore are currently recording their fourth studio album. The band recently revealed that Beck/Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen will be producing their new record, with singer Hayley Williams adding that they have so far recorded and completed one track, which is titled 'Daydreaming'.

Paramore will return to the UK to play Reading and Leeds Festivals in August and will also play two gigs in Belfast and Edinburgh in the days before. The pop punkers will headline the Belsonic 2012 event in Custom House Square in Belfast on August 19 and play Edinburgh's Corn Exchange Centre on August 21.

The shows in Edinburgh and Belfast will be the band's first UK show since the departure of the Farro brothers.

Paramore New Album Updates: Many Keyboards, Occasional Burritos

9:37 AM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

Paramore first entered the studio back in April to begin work on the follow-up to their Brand New Eyes album, tapping Justin Meldal-Johnsen to helm the sessions ... and since then, aside from the odd tweet, there's been little in the way of progress updates.

But over the last week, all of that has changed. Paramore recently launched an in-studio Instagram account, which so far has been populated with pics of the band recording new material — Hayley Williams seems to be spending an inordinate amount of time playing with keyboards and organs, for what it's worth — shooting hoops and taking the occasional burrito break.

They're also apparently making tremendous progress on the still-untitled album: Earlier on Wednesday (June 6), Williams took to Twitter to reveal that Paramore were beginning pre-production work on a song, and they'd previously recorded a song called "Daydreaming." In the meantime, Meldal-Johnsen has also recently been doing work on the new Tegan and Sara album, in addition to playing bass for Beck on his just-wrapped tour.

There's still no tentative release date for the new album, though a rep for Paramore's label, Fueled by Ramen, told MTV News that the band is currently in pre-production "with the bulk of actual production happening in July." But, hey, Para-maniacs ... while you're waiting, you can always marvel at this shot of the band's in-studio toilet situation. Hey, it's better than nothing, right?

Paramore in the studio for new album

8:25 PM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

Fans with tickets to the Paramore 2012 tour could hear some new material from the band, who are currently in the studio recording their fourth album.

In an interview with Buzznet blogger Audrey Kitching, lead singer Hayley Williams said the band have already finished one track - Daydreaming - for the as-yet-untitled record.

Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen is producing Paramore's new album and Williams said working with him has been "easily the most inspired and liberating experience we've had in the studio so far".

Paramore tickets are currently available for the band's shows in Belfast and Edinburgh this August and they will also be playing this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, where Williams is looking forward to seeing The Cure.

"Someone is going to have to help me stand up when I see [frontman] Robert Smith," she remarked.

Williams, who is the only surviving founding member of the band, added a lot has changed since she penned their last album, as she is now "laughing things off a lot more easily".

Paramore give an update on the recording of their fourth studio album

6:09 PM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

Paramore have posted an update on their progress in recording their fourth studio album.

The band recently revealed that Beck/Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen will be producing their new record, with singer Hayley Williams adding that they have so far recorded and completed one track, which is titled 'Daydreaming'.

Answering questions posted by a fan on Buzznet, the singer spoke about working with Meldal-Johnsen and described working with him as "easily the most inspired and liberating experience we've had in the studio so far."

Speaking about working with Johnsen, Williams said: "At this point, we have recorded one song with Justin. That time in the studio was easily the most relaxed, inspired, and liberating experiences we have had in any studio thus far. We are huge fans of his work not only as a producer but as a musician, writer and musical director. He wears all those hats well and with a lot of humility."

Williams also spoke about her lyrical inspiration for the new record, adding: "I am laughing things off a lot more easily these days than I was at 19, when I wrote the last album. Even the songs with the more serious subject matter feel less toiled and troubled. Musically, I am most inspired by the personality captured in every instrument. That, to me, is actually what is making up this newer sound that is happening."

The singer also revealed that she is loving recent NME cover stars Alabama Shakes and named them as a "grittier version of motown". She said of this: "My love for music stemmed from old Motown artists like The Temptations. Right now, I'm loving Alabama Shakes because they've got those vibes but it's grittier. So great."

The shows in Edinburgh and Belfast will be the band's first UK show since the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro, and could see the Nashville pop punkers previewing material from their as yet untitled fourth album.

Paramore's Hayley Williams: New Songs Less 'Toiled and Troubled'

6:07 PM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

"I am laughing things off a lot more easily these days than I was at 19"

Paramore's Hayley Williams has taken some time out from working on her band's upcoming fourth album — and helping fun. do the billion-and-oneth Gotye cover — to praise Alabama Shakes and offer further insight into the new Paramore record.

Answering questions submitted by a fan on Buzznet (via NME), Williams said that while her favorite band has long been Philadelphia post-hardcore outfit mewithoutYou, "my love for music stemmed from old Motown artists like the Temptations. Right now, I'm loving Alabama Shakes 'cause they've got those vibes but it's grittier. So great." Our reviewer pretty much agreed. (Read SPIN's Breaking Out profile of Alabama Shakes.)

Williams has previously revealed that Paramore are recording the follow-up to 2009's Brand New Eyes with former Beck/Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who produced French artist M83's latest dream-pop heart-tugger, 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. Now she says the band has finished one song with Meldal-Johnsen — and had a blast doing it. "That time in the studio was easily the most relaxed, inspired, and liberating experiences we have had in any studio thus far," she enthuses. Would it be selfish to wish the experience could be a bit less relaxed, a little more productive? Like, where's Phil Spector when you need him, right? (Oh … right. Never mind.)

Paramore's fiery-voiced and -haired frontwoman also suggested the theme of the new album could be a bit more optimistic. "I am laughing things off a lot more easily these days than I was at 19, when I wrote the last album," she observes. "A lot of change... a lot of positivity. Even the songs with the more serious subject matter feel less toiled and troubled."

Williams continues: "Musically, I am most inspired by the personality captured in every instrument. That, to me, is actually what is making up this newer sound that is happening."

The featured vocalist from B.o.B's 2010 hit "Airplanes" also offers up kind words for HBO's Lena Dunham-led series Girls (she says she's "obsessed") and expresses excitement for Paramore's scheduled gig this summer at the U.K. Reading and Leeds festival. "We play, literally, right before the Cure," Williams notes. "Someone is going to have to help me stand up when I see Robert Smith."

In the meantime, fans who've waited through Paramore's performance at Fueled by Ramen's 15th anniversary show, occasional videos, Taylor Swift duet, and singles club releases might want to stay seated. Writing about the album last month, Williams said, "We cannot assure you it will be out this year." Sure, the Temptations at their peak were putting out a couple of albums a year, but not without it taking a terrible toll on the group. We guess we'll have to try to be patient just a little bit longer.

New Paramore Album Is 'Inspired'

6:03 PM Blogger Serabutan 0 Comments

Paramore have updated fans on their recording sessions with new producer and bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, describing it as "the most inspired and liberating experience we've had in the studio so far."

Justin was formerly with Nine Inch Nails and Beck, but singer Hayley Williams couldn't be happier that he has now joined the Paramore camp.

"At this point, we have recorded one song with Justin. That time in the studio was easily the most relaxed, inspired, and liberating experiences we have had in any studio thus far," she told fans (via NME). "We are huge fans of his work not only as a producer but as a musician, writer and musical director. He wears all those hats well and with a lot of humility."

Hayley adds that sher songwriting has matured since recording "Brand New Eyes" in 2009. "I am laughing things off a lot more easily these days than I was at 19, when I wrote the last album. Even the songs with the more serious subject matter feel less toiled and troubled. Musically, I am most inspired by the personality captured in every instrument. That, to me, is actually what is making up this newer sound that is happening."

The band have four shows scheduled in the UK, including a headline slot at Reading Festival in August. It will be their first UK appearance since founding members Josh and Zac Farro left the band.
